Blacksmith Brass

Blacksmith Brass is a quintet consisting of recent graduates from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Formed in 2019 the quintet plays a wide range of styles including classical brass quintet repertoire, film music and jazz music. Over the past few years, the group have performed in a variety of settings from concerts, cop rate functions, educational workshops and many more including performances at the Senedd for the Welsh Government’s Christmas Carol service, lunchtime concerts at Newport Cathedral and St Elvan’s Church in Aberdare and The Holy Trinity in Nailsea. The group have competed in a range of competitions with highlights including being multiple finals in the RWCMD’s Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Competition and finalists in the McGrenery Chamber music competition.
